Prairie Chicken Hunting RV Resorts

The Prairie Chicken belongs in the grouse family and are native to North America. However, it has become rare or extinct over much of it's habitual range due to hunting and habitat loss. The average size the prairie chicken reaches is about 14 inches long, they are medium-sized, stocky, and the males have more color than the females. Prairie chickens can be found in Canada and other tall grass prairies around North America. Currently, the population of these birds is estimated to be about 459,000.
