UNSEASONABLE BLIZZARD POSTED AT
Sunday's blizzard, which left up to 8 inches of snow in some areas of Kansas, was called an "unprecedented event" by a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wichita. Meteorologist Brad Ketcham said he couldn't remember, nor could any evidence be found on record, of a prior blizzard warning issued by the NWS during November.

Salina received more than 5 inches of snow Sunday, and Glendale, in northwest Saline County, received 6 inches, according to the National Weather Service. That is quite a lot more than the originally predicted 2 to 4 inches that were expected to hit the area.

KANSAS MAN ADMITS TO SHOOTING SOUTHERN ILLINOIS OFFICER
A Kansas man has pleaded guilty to several charges in connection with a shooting that wounded a southern Illinois police officer during a July 2016 chase. The Jackson County state's attorney office says the plea agreement with 24-year-old Alex Karcher of Salina, Kansas, calls for him to face a prison sentence of at least 25 years.
