TRIBAL MEMBER SENTENCE AFTER DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A member of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe was sentenced to five years in prison for domestic assault by a habitual offender. U.S. Attorney Annette Hayes says Matthew Tyler Charles of Port Angeles pleaded guilty in March.

MCKINLEY PAPER CO. BRINGS SUSTAINABLE MODEL TO WA MILL
The McKinley Paper Co., a subsidiary of Mexico-based Bio Pappel, will bring its model of producing paper without cutting trees to its new mill in Port Angeles, Washington. The mill will create containerboard using recycled cardboard.

MCKINLEY PLANS STARTUP OF CONVERSION AT PORT ANGELES PLANT FOR 2019
McKinley Paper Company, a subsidiary of Bio-Pappel, has announced that the startup of its converted Port Angeles, WA, paper mill, is planned for September 2019. Bio-Pappel's project involves the conversion of the idled mill's directory paper/newsprint production into 250,000 tonnes/yr of recycled containerboard, increasing its capacity in the USA to 500,000 tonnes/yr, bringing the group's total capacity to 2 million tonnes/yr in Mexico and the USA.
