PEPSI MIDAMERICA PLANT EXPANDING IN MARION, IL
According to the office of Illinois State Senator Dale Fowler , the plant in Marion is expanding and efforts are underway to secure funding for on-site roadwork developments at the facility. State Sen. Fowler's office says these efforts are key for the Pepsi MidAmerica plant in Marion to expand, which include plans to implement a new distribution system and the creation of new jobs within the facility.

5K MEMORIAL RUN HELD IN MARION, IL
They did this by putting on a 5K benefit event where runners and their families came to sweat it out for a good cause. All Proceeds benefited Veterans through Team RWB a veteran organization that helps connect veterans to the community through social events as well as the Marion Police and Fire Departments.

MARION, IL MAN ARRESTED ON SEVERAL DRUG CHARGES AFTER BRIEF PURSUIT
Police with the Marion Police Department attempted to arrest Derek Woods, 34, on a warrant for his arrest out of Williamson County for the delivery of cocaine. According to police, when a Marion officer attempted to arrest Woods, he ran from the officer.

LABOR DAY CELEBRATION AT RENT ONE PARK
Labor Day celebrations picked up across the Heartland today one of which was at Rent One Park in Marion, Illinois. The EBTC rented out the park and set up quite the celebration.

HE WAS GIVEN 14 YEARS AFTER HE SPIT ON, THREATENED AND BIT OFFICERS
According to Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon J. Zanotti, on Aug. 21 Alan L. Shields, 34 of Chicago, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. The judge sentenced Shields to five years for threatening a public official, a class 3 felony, and seven years for aggravated battery to a police officer, a class 2 felony, to run concurrently; and another seven years for aggravated battery to a correctional officer, a class 2 felony, to run consecutively to the other sentence.
