FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COMMUNITY TURN OUT TO SUPPORT SUSPENDED HAMMOND TEEN
More than 50 people filled the school library during Tuesday night's Hammond Central School board meeting, many to support Samuel Webster, the high school senior who was suspended last week for allegedly bringing a disabled BB gun to class that was intended for use as a prop in an upcoming play . "I've never really been in trouble, so this has been an intense week and a half," Mr. Webster said prior to the meeting as he stood among classmates and supporters.

HAMMOND MAN CHARGED WITH GRAND LARCENY
St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies charged Nathan E. Finley, 30, of 7775 Route 58, Hammond, with felony fourth-degree grand larceny. Deputies charge in June of this year in the town, Mr. Finley gave a 2003 Nissan coupe to another person with the intent of keeping it from the titled owner and failed to disclose its whereabouts to investigating officers.

Artists' Studio Tour is an annual county-wide event organized by SLC Arts. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 3 and 4, artists around the county will open their work spaces to demonstrate and discuss how they create their art.

HAMMOND PLANS NEW TOWN HALL, OPERA HOUSE RESTORATION PROJECTS
The resurrection of another historic performing arts venue in St. Lawrence County is part of a plan by town officials here to move out of their current municipal building and construct a new one nearby. Town officials recently bonded for $800,000 to construct a new municipal building at 21 S. Main St. The current town hall is at 19 N. Main St. Doing so, in turn, will allow the town to seek help in restoring the old Hammond Opera House, which is located inside its current municipal facility.
