CANADA COMES KNOCKING FOR CANNABIS
On Nov. 27, Vancouver-based Chemistree Technology Inc. announced that it has entered into a "strategic partnership" with an unnamed cannabis processing company based in Arcata. In a press release, the company announced that the partnership will see Chemistree loan the processor $450,000 and a still-to-be-negotiated additional line of credit to expand the business, including the purchasing of new equipment and improvements to the processing facility.

MAN ARRESTED FOR DESERT HOT SPRINGS STABBING DEATH
Albert Marchain, 27, of Desert Hot Springs is accused in the stabbing death of an unidentified 69-year-old man, whose body was found at around 1:25 p.m. Monday in the 66900 block of Hacienda Avenue. Investigators "obtained information" that led to Marchain's Tuesday afternoon arrest on Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City, according to county jail records.

Using newly released Census Bureau data from October this year, a recent study analyzed median incomes and the change in median incomes over the course of three years, from 2014 to 2017, based on each year's respective American Community Survey . This study revealed an additional, arguably more unnerving development: The growth of income inequality, and the annihilation of middle incomes and the middle class .

SAN BERNARDINO MAN INJURES 2 DEPUTIES IN SEPARATE ATTACKS, AUTHORITIES SAY
Devin Brian Dalton, 29, was arrested Nov. 12, 2018, after he twice fought with deputies, causing them injuries, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said. A San Bernardino man was jailed Monday, Nov. 12, after authorities say he injured one deputy who responded to a domestic-disturbance call and then injured a second deputy in a hospital.

MAN SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS TO LIFE FOR DHS SHOOTING DEATH
A man who shot and killed another man "for no reason" in Desert Hot Springs nearly two years ago was sentenced Thursday to 25 years to life in state prison. Anthony Garza, 28, pleaded guilty to a first-degree murder count last month for shooting Dominick Mesta, 21, four times in the face on Dec. 18, 2016.
