MONTANA MAN AWARDED $2.1M IN LAWSUIT AGAINST BNSF
A federal court jury has awarded a Montana man more than $2.1 million in a wrongful termination lawsuit against BNSF Railway following an on-the-job injury. Zachary Wooten, of Columbia Falls, sued BNSF alleging the company violated the Federal Rail Safety Act after he was injured in the Whitefish rail yard in July 2015.

BEAR ATTACK WEST OF COLOMBIA FALLS
On November 11, 2018 at approximately 9 a.m. the Flathead County Sheriff's Office received a report of a Bear Attack just off Trumble Canyon Road north-west of Columbia Falls. The Flathead County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page says two males had reportedly been hunting when one of the males was attacked.

MONTANA MAN DIES WHEN BOAT CAPSIZES ON FLATHEAD RIVER
Sheriff Chuck Curry tells the Flathead Beacon Michael Allen of Columbia Falls and another person were in an aluminum boat on Tuesday when it capsized, sending them both into the water near the Pressentine fishing access south of Columbia Falls. Searchers found them about two-thirds of a mile downstream.
